Traditional Christmas Ascent to Rtanj Mountain 2009.

This manifestation is a long lasting tradition organized by the "Rtanj" mountaineering society. All mountaineering societies from the country are invited to participate in the group ascent to this famous mountain of Serbia. Around 300 climbers reach the summit of Rtanj on this day every year. The ascent has a 1200 meter altitude gain and requires good endurance, although it is not technically difficult. In the evening, a celebration and a nice dinner is prepared for all participants.
