Germany: Bavaria

Roding (VR)
Roding is a village in central Bavaria, actually Bavarian Forest (Bayersiche Wald). It is not a hot tourist destination, but it has fresh air and nice natural surroundings. Arber mountain is relatively close to it, if you like to ski during winter.

Falkenstein Village
Another small Bavarian village, in winter hibernation. In the village you can find a nice national Bavarian restaurant where you can eat according to Medival customs, and on a hill above is a small castle.

Falkenstein Castle
Old castles on Bavarian hilltops are quite common. This one has a small museum inside dedicated to Bavarian wildlife, and a nice restaurant. It is also possible to climb on top of the tower and enjoy the view.

Donaustauf Panorama (VR)
This is a small village on river Danube, close to Regensburg. It also has an old fortress on a hill above it.

Donaustauf Panorama
Danube flows just under the hills here, marking a border where wide plains end and Bavarian Forest and its hills begin.

Walhalla Temple Panorama
Close to Donastauf, on the top of a hill with nice view over Danube stands the Walhalla Temple. It was built by Ludvig I of Bavaria, with an intention to create a "Hall of Fame" for all famous personalities in German history.
